Art with Whaea Dagmar

Kia Ora Whanau

We are very lucky to have art this term! Whaea Dagmar has come to work with Pohutukawa and is starting in room 6.

We are using art to show what we know about healthy eating. Our kids were able to show through art their favourite fruit and vegetable along with patterns and designs.

The results to come!

Snag Golf!

Kia Ora Whanau!

This week room 6 had their first session of Snag golf! A fun way to learn golf skills and helping Pohutukawa students work together.

With the help of our coach Shannon a.k.a "Snag Girl" our class learnt a whole lot of new skills.

Check out our great first lesson below:

"Hands together, feet together, toes pointing straight at the ball while keeping our arms straight."

Share and shine time!

It's shine and share time again! This week Pohutukawa were treated to a play about conflict from room 9.
We were then shown some locelt medals that room 7 had been working on.
Next time room 6 will share what we have been working on!

Safety first!!!

This year at SPS we are learning a few
new safety drills to help us in an emergency situation. All Whanau groups were lucky enough to have the help of Mr Harrison to talk us through the lock down procedure.

Mr Harrison talks to Pohutukawa Whanau about what we need to do if the school is in lockdown.
We are now ready to get into lockdown positions at a moments notice!

Share and shine!!!!!!

Welcome!

Pohutukawa Whanau is proud of the learning they do in class and have found a great way to share their work with the rest of the Whanau.

Our Shine and Share time is a chance for Pohutukawa students to share something special they have made, learnt or know in Pohutukawa style.

Here's the whole Whanau together!

A few snaps of room 7 sharing their latest work from their inquiry.

Our 'model student' Reuben Isaako showing us how Pohutukawa students aim to sit when others are speaking. Respect :)

And here's JJ showing us the work he chose to do all by himself at home! Mr Timo was so impressed that there was only one place to put his work on World War One, on our Inquiry wall!!!

Looking forward to more shine and share moments with Pohutukawa!!!
